抄録: Asperger's syndrome(AS) is a pervasive developmental disorder character-
ized by social impairments and rigid and repetitive interests or behaviors. In contrast to
the social presentation in autism, individuals with AS find themselves socially isolated
but are not usually withdrawn in presence of other people, typically approaching others
but in an inappropriate or eccentric fashion. It is difficult to distinguish AS from
high-functional autism, attention-deficit/hyperactive disorder, obsessive-compulsive
disorder and personality disorder. Here we describe the case of a 35-year-old female
who was diagnosed with AS. She had been diagnosed as having schizophrenia or
borderline personality disorder because of her depressive mood and impulsive acts(e.g.,
self-mutilation, suicide attempts and violent behaviors). Detailed psychological
interviews and several psychological tests revealed that she was afflicted with the
disorder. The practical implications of delayed diagnosis may adversely affect the
prognosis in her case. It is important for her family members to understand her social
disabilities and for her to acquire appropriate social skills.

抄録: We report the first-year outcome of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) at
the Nara Medical University Hospital. The follow-up periods ranged from one month to
one year. Among 30 eyes of 15 patients who underwent LASIK for myopia or myopic
astigrnatism, 29 eyes (96.7%) obtained an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
with subjective refraction of ±O.5D of emmetropia. Complications were undercorrection
(one eye) and diffuse lamellar keratitis (one eye). Both eyes underwent reoperation and
obtained good vision.
We conclude that the first-year outcome of LASIK at the Nara Medical University
Hospital is excellent.

抄録: We investigated the demographic characteristics of patients with delirium
in the Department of Psychiatry, Higashiosaka City General Hospital, during the period
from April 2005 to March 2006. Forty-five patients (mean age 72.4 y.o.) were diagnosed
with delirium, and 40 (89%) of these were over 60 years old. Seventeen patients (36%)
suffered from malignant tumor as an underlying disease and 4 patients (24%) died during
their admission. In order to treat delirium, risperidone (53%), quetiapine (20%),
perospirone (7%), olanzapine (2%), haloperidol (4%) and tiapride (2%) were used. Finally,
16 patients (36%) were improved from the delirium state and the mean period of
improvement from delirium was 10 days after the first examination. Finally, 9 patients
(20%) of all patients who were diagnosed with delirium died from their physical
complications.

抄録: We investigated the demographic characteristics of 704 outpatients in the
Department of Psychiatry, Higashiosaka City General Hospital, during the period from
March 2005 to April 2006, and the profile pattern in 294 patients was assessed by Tokyo
University Egogram (TEG). About 80% of the patients were diagnosed with F0 (organic,
including symptomatic, mental disorders), F3 (mood (affective) disorders), or F4 (neurotic,
stress-related and somatoform disorders). About half of the patients were aged 60 or
older and there was a tendency that more elderly people visited the psychiatry
department. Analysis of TEG in patients showed high adapted child and low free child
scales tendency overall. TEG profile pattern reflects personality traits in patients with
mental disorders respectively and might be a useful tool for supporting each patient
based on personality.
