抄録: The aim of this study is to elucidate the difference of hypothalamus- &#xD;
hypophysis dysregulation between depressive pseudodementia and dementia in aged popula- &#xD;
tion. Eight patients with pseudodementia due to major depression and eight patients with &#xD;
dementia of Alzheimer type or cerebral vascular dementia were investigated with the &#xD;
thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) stimulation test and the dexamethason supression &#xD;
test (DST). Plasma TSH level following injection of TRH and serum cortisol level after &#xD;
administration of dexamethason were measured. In the demented patients, both ΔTSH and &#xD;
serum cortisol level after administration of dexamethason were lower than those in the &#xD;
depressed patients. Since these differences were not significant, further investigation of the &#xD;
utility of TRH stimulation test and DST is necessary to improve our armamentarium for &#xD;
diagnosis and treatment of demented states.</summary>

抄録: The proliferative activity of ameloblastoma (25 primary, 5 recurrent cases) &#xD;
was examined radiologically, histologically and immunohistochemically. &#xD;
1. Unicystic ameloblastoma type 1 and 2 (WHO classification, 1992) cases have lower &#xD;
proliferative activity than other types of ameloblastoma. &#xD;
2. The growth characteristics and proliferative activity of unilocular scalloped margin &#xD;
cases were near those of multilocular cases. It is necessary to distinguish smooth margin &#xD;
and scalloped margin from unilocular. &#xD;
3. The cases of recurrence, columnar cell type (outer layer cell type), follicular type and &#xD;
plexiform type (WHO classification, 1992) have high tendencies for invasive growth &#xD;
characteristics and proliferative activity. &#xD;
4. The cases of honeycomb, basal cell type and suspected malignancy have invasive &#xD;
growth characteristics and very high proliferative activity. Mandibular resection is em- &#xD;
ployed in these cases.</summary>

抄録: The displacement of human dried facial bone was measured and considered &#xD;
by real time holographic interferometry, when the loads of various directions and amounts &#xD;
were applied on the zygomatic bone and maxilla. The relations between places subjected &#xD;
to the loads and their deformations were discovered from consideration of the fringe &#xD;
pattern. The fracture patterns of maxilla and zygomatic bones were classified into 12 &#xD;
groups according to the loading areas. For the orbital floor, the fracture patterns were &#xD;
summarized in 4 groups. These results give suitable aspects for surgical treatment of the &#xD;
fracture of mid-facial bone.</summary>

抄録: A complete human skeleton was excavated from a burial mound built in the &#xD;
6 th Century(Kofun period of Japan) at the top of Kanzo-yama hill of Itano-cho, Tokushima. &#xD;
Most of the cranio-facial bones, neck and upper thoracic bones appeared reddishly painted &#xD;
with mercuric cosmetics(mercuric sulfide). Bones were mostly laid ventral-up in the &#xD;
anatomical arrangement ; the cranium was dolico-cephalic(73.0 in cranial index), the &#xD;
midface low(54.7 in Kollmann index), and the nose middle(47.1 in nasal index). This is one &#xD;
of the most well-preserved excavations of human remains of the Kofun period of Toku- &#xD;
shima, an adult male estimated to be 162 cm in height.</summary>
